Yesterday, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed Executive Order 23-171 in preparation for Tropical Storm Idalia. The order declares a state of emergency for 33 counties along Florida’s Gulf Coast, including Gadsden County. Idalia’s projected impact in the Gadsden County area is Tuesday.
Idalia is currently near Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula and is predicted to intensify as it moves northward into the Gulf of Mexico. It is forecast to strengthen over the next few days, possibly turning into a hurricane.
